The West Nest
Nest Contracts supplied a selection of timeless designs that transformed this luxury holiday cottage into a haven of comfort and relaxation for guests.
The project focused on creating a calming atmosphere where guests can unwind and connect with nature. Timeless furniture and lighting were carefully selected to create an uncluttered space with a feeling of homeliness and warmth.
In the dining room, Carl Hansen & Son CH24 Wishbone chairs create an inviting place to sit, with an &Tradition Flowerpot VP7 Pendant Light providing targeted illumination. An Audo Copenhagen JWDA Table Lamp and Bottle Grinders were also used in the dining space.
Natural oak finishes complement the oak floors and add warmth to the otherwise monochromatic scheme. The pieces in the home were chosen to stand the test of time, their great quality meaning they can be enjoyed by many guests for years to come.
Nest Contracts worked closely with owner Gordon Shaw to supply well-priced Danish designs to this remote corner of Skye, successfully navigating delivery challenges posed by Brexit.

Skye Cottage is a luxury holiday home, nestled into a secluded west-facing spot high in Glendale at the far western corner of Skye. The west-facing living spaces have far-reaching views down the glen, where you can sit comfortably and watch the sun go down behind North Uist at the end of a day’s exploration.
The house was completely refurbished in summer 2021 and has two king bedrooms and two bathrooms, a generous kitchen, boot room, open plan living/dining space and a large deck with a fire-pit.
This home is the perfect getaway for couples who are slow travellers, wanting to dive into the nature surrounding Skye.
