NewGround Coffee
NewGround completed a delightful monochrome speciality cafe in historical central Oxford. Working alongside Nest Contracts, the new cafe presents a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic whilst being highly functional.
The project was a true collaboration between NewGround’s director and Nest Contracts, who provided the furniture and expertise to bring the vision to life.
Working together to establish the client’s needs, it was clear the brand and space needed high-quality items that were:
Hard-wearing
Easy to clean/maintain
Provided options for spare parts for longevity
Light-weight

Their passion for expertly crafting coffee combined with social responsibility has led NewGround to become a b-Corp-certified company recently.
The NewGround brand propositioning, where pushing boundaries, thinking differently and producing good coffee naturally, and not just to taste, but also as a catalyst for change meant a Scandi minimal style would be a perfect match.
The cafe complements their roasters and utilises a mix of two world-renowned Scandinavian brands, HAY and Muuto featuring Muuto Base High Tables and HAY Elementaire Chairs, Neu Tables and Soft Edge 85 stools in shades of anthracite and black, set in a crisp white background, softened with plywood and greenery; the monochrome colour theme works in perfect tandem with the brand enhancing the overall experience.
